How God Used Us in 2018
“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
Four characteristics identify YOU as the type of giver God loves:
- You decide what to give and then follow through
- You give willingly
- You don’t give because it’s required
- You give cheerfully
Throughout the past year, Agapé’ Word and Worship Center met the criteria of 2 Corinthians 9:7. Through the Bible studies, website teachings and newly added seminars, we gave a deeper understanding of The Word. For those desiring to keep the Word before their eyes, The Word Works and other books were made available online and reached an even greater audience. Through our partnership with Kenneth Copeland Ministries, Joyce Meyer Ministries, Mercy Multiplied, Faith Christian Fellowship, Gateway Church, Haven of Rest Ministries, Volunteers of America, Banner of Jesus Ministries and John 21:17 Feed My Sheep Ministry, we sowed more than $29,000 to help spread the Gospel to a hurting world.
As always, it was our great joy to be a distribution center for The Lord. Because of your generosity, we were able to meet the following needs –
- Backpacks and school supplies for Volunteers of America’s Operation Backpack
- $3,000 worth of Home Depot, Lowes, Bed Bath and Beyond and Target gift cards to Ronald McDonald House of Akron
- Assisted with disaster relief in the United States through a $1,000 donation to Samaritan’s Purse
- Provided two care packages to a soldier stationed away from home
- Provided The Word Works books and sponsorship for several girls to attend the Exodus Family Foundation conference which educates and empowers young girls to develop strong, positive relationships
- Paid rent for seven families totaling more than $5600
- Purchased a new washing machine for a family in need
- Sowed $500 toward a single mother’s purchase of reliable transportation
- Paid more than $2,025 in car payments
- Purchased a $150 Giant Eagle Getgo gas card, $50 in Akron Children’s Hospital food vouchers and $50 in Subway and Little Cesar’s gift cards to make life a little easier for a family making repeated trips to Akron Children’s Hospital from their home in Salem, Ohio
- Paid $2,178 toward past due electric bills, $2,100 toward past due gas bills and $1,652 toward past due water and sewer bills
- Provided clothing, toys, shoes, boots, coats, blankets and household items along with $3,730 in Walmart and Target gift cards, $250 in Kohl’s gift cards, and $390 in Subway and Domino’s gift cards for six families for Christmas
- Provided assorted gifts and gift cards to bless a lonely widow on her birthday, Christmas and Valentine’s Day
- Provided 175 gift bags and blankets, along with 120 Scripture telephones, to the elderly in five local nursing homes
Thank you for your cheerful giving and continued support. We have been God’s faithful servants and look forward to more opportunities to sow in this new year. Remember we’re already blessed; we’re standing in faith with you that 2019 will be a year of great grace and great harvest in every area of your life!
